A presenter-led ad has a lot to get right in another language
Many YouTube ads have a person explaining a product, with claims, prices and a call to action. Translating one means every sentence has to be right, and the presenter has to stay the same person.
The usual way
- Reshoot the presenter in each language
- A voice actor over the original, mouth out of step
- Script to a translator, then a studio, then back for fixes
- A separate edit for each format

Videos up to 30 minutes and 512 MB per file are supported. You pay per minute, so a longer ad costs more tokens.

Sound
Background music and sound effects stay; the speech is replaced. It is harder when music is as loud as the voice.
Notes for YouTube ad formats
In-stream (usually horizontal)
Upload the horizontal master. If the presenter is on camera, lip-sync keeps the mouth in step with the new words.
Shorts ads (vertical)
Upload the vertical cut. It stays vertical. Add animated subtitles in the new language if you want the ad to work with the sound off.

If you run several cuts, upload each one. Each video in each language is its own translation.
Text and graphics in the video
Titles, lower thirds and price cards stay in the original language. GeckoDub translates the speech, not the pixels.
