How Long Does AI Video Translation Take?

Processing runs about two to five times the length of the video, so a 30-second ad lands in one to three minutes. Queued videos process independently, so six languages take about as long as one.

Minutes, not days. As a rough rule, GeckoDub takes about 2-5x the length of your input video to process a translation with lip-sync and animated subtitles enabled. A 30-second ad is usually done in one to three minutes; a five-minute product demo takes closer to 10-25 minutes. Traditional dubbing agencies quote turnaround in days or weeks per language.

    What changes the processing time

    • Video length — Processing scales roughly with duration, so a 30-second ad clears far faster than a five-minute demo
    • Resolution and file quality — Higher-resolution source files take proportionally longer to analyse and re-render
    • Lip-sync quality tier — High-quality GoSync 3.0 lip-sync takes noticeably longer than translation alone, because the engine analyses every frame of mouth and head movement to match the new audio
    • Animated subtitles — Burning in animated subtitles adds a rendering pass on top of translation

Translating into several languages at once

Each video in your queue processes independently. That means translating one video into six languages, or six videos into one language, takes about as long end to end as a single job — you are not waiting for a serial queue to drain. Bulk upload (available on Creator Pro and Scale) is built around this: load a batch, start it, and come back to a finished set.

Why the speed matters for ad campaigns

For performance marketers the practical difference is not "fast versus slow" — it is whether localisation sits inside your testing loop or outside it. When a translated variant is ready the same afternoon, you can spot a winning creative on Monday and have it live in five markets by Tuesday. At agency turnaround, the creative is often already fatigued by the time the localised version lands.

If a job seems stuck well beyond the 2-5x window, it is usually an oversized or unusually high-bitrate source file. Re-export at 1080p before re-uploading.
