What Is Multi-Speaker Detection in AI Dubbing?

Multi-speaker detection is the ability of an AI dubbing system to tell the people in a video apart and process them individually, rather than treating the footage as one continuous speaker. In GeckoDub this runs inside GoSync 3.0, which uses facial mapping to isolate and track each speaker in the shot so their lip movements are generated independently.

Why it matters

Plenty of ad creative has more than one person on camera:

• Duets, reactions and compilation edits assembled from several creators

Without speaker separation, a lip-sync model has to guess who is talking. It ends up animating the wrong mouth, or animating both — one person's lips moving while the other speaks. On a paid ad, that is not a small artifact; it is the whole thing looking broken.

How it works

1. Detection and tracking — each face in the frame is mapped and followed across cuts and camera moves
2. Attribution — the audio is aligned to whichever speaker is actually talking at that moment
3. Per-speaker lip-sync — mouth movements are generated separately for each tracked person, so the silent one stays silent

Where to use it

Interview and testimonial formats are the strongest use case, because they are also the formats that convert hardest to fake. If you are localizing a compilation of several creators, review the translated script in the proofreading editor first — dialogue that overlaps or interrupts is the hardest material for any dubbing system, human or AI, and it is worth checking before you spend tokens on the final render.
