Tokens vs Minutes: How AI Translation Pricing Works

GeckoDub bills in tokens, not minutes. Every plan comes with a monthly token allowance, and each job — translation, voice cloning, lip-sync — draws from that single balance. The "minutes" quoted on the pricing page are simply what that allowance buys as standard video translation.

Why tokens instead of a fixed minute count

A minute of video isn't a fixed amount of work. Standard translation with voice cloning costs one rate; HQ lip-sync costs double. One shared pool lets you decide the mix — around 13 minutes of straightforward translation on Starter, or fewer minutes with HQ lip-sync on your hero creative — instead of stranding an allowance you didn't need. Subtitle-only and screen-recording jobs stretch furthest, because there's no face to lip-sync.

The rate improves as you scale

Tokens get cheaper on larger plans: 5% cheaper on Creator Pro and 15% cheaper on Scale. That's why Scale's 1,000 tokens stretch to roughly 155 minutes rather than a straight multiple of Starter's 13. Creator Pro and Scale also include top-ups, so you can buy extra tokens mid-month instead of jumping a plan for one busy campaign.

Which plan fits

• Starter — a couple of short ads a month, or testing one new market before committing.
• Creator Pro — the usual fit for a brand running ongoing localized campaigns across two or three languages.
