A Leggings Brand Built on Video
LunaFit built its brand on one thing: showing women exactly how their leggings look, feel and move in real life. No studio shoots, no airbrushing — just real women at the gym, on a run, styling outfits, talking straight to camera about why the product is different.
That UGC-first approach made LunaFit one of the fastest-growing activewear brands in its home market, with ROAS consistently above 3x on Meta and TikTok. The formula was authentic voices, real product demonstrations, and a tone that felt like a recommendation from a friend rather than an ad.
The untapped opportunity was obvious: millions of potential customers across Europe who would want the product — if the ads spoke their language. Every attempt to expand into Germany, France, Spain or Italy told the same story. CPAs doubled. Click-through rates halved. The conversational tone that drove sales at home simply didn't land when the audience was hearing a language that wasn't theirs.
The Challenge
The growth team diagnosed it immediately. Their ads worked because of the voice — the casual, genuine way creators talked about the product. Localizing meant reproducing that in five languages without losing what made it convert.
Our ads are 90% voice. Someone is holding up the leggings, doing a squat test, showing the squat-proof fabric, and talking through the whole thing. We knew that if we could deliver that same experience in someone's native language, the performance would be on another level. People engage completely differently when content feels like it was made for them.

The obvious route was hiring UGC creators in each market, and they ran the numbers on it. For their top 10 performing ads, sourcing, briefing and managing creators across five languages came to roughly €5,000–€8,000 and three to four weeks of back-and-forth — with no guarantee the new creators would deliver the same energy, messaging or conversion performance as the originals.
The timing was the bigger problem. New ads went live weekly. By the time local creator content came back for a winning ad, the original had usually already fatigued in the home market. The window had closed before the localized version existed.
The Solution
LunaFit found GeckoDub through another DTC brand in their network. What sold them wasn't the technology on its own — it was that it dropped into the workflow they already ran.
- Identify winners. Any new UGC ad that cleared 2.5x ROAS in the primary market was flagged for localization.
- Upload. The original video went into GeckoDub, which transcribed the audio automatically.
- Translate and refine. The script was translated into German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, and the team reviewed each one so product-specific language read naturally rather than literally.
- Voice clone and lip-sync. GeckoDub generated the dubs using voice cloning of the original creator, matched with GoSync lip-sync — essential for footage where the creator holds the product near her face while talking.
- Launch. All five localized versions were exported and pushed into campaigns, typically the same day as the original upload.
An ad that took off on Monday morning could be live in five languages by Monday evening.
The voice cloning genuinely surprised us. We had one creator with a very distinctive, energetic delivery style. When we heard her German version, it still sounded like her — same energy, same personality, just in German. That's what makes it work. It doesn't feel like a translation. It feels like the creator speaks that language.

The Results
Within two weeks, LunaFit had enough data to identify five new profitable markets — validation that would have taken months and thousands of euros through local creator sourcing.
Performance, first 90 days
- Total ad revenue up 186% across all markets combined, driven by localized creative
- Average ROAS of 3.8x on GeckoDub-localized ads, against a 3.1x English-only benchmark
- CPA down 52% in the German and French markets after launching fully localized video
- Hook rate (3-second view rate) up 44% on localized creative versus English-only in the same markets
- Conversion rate up 29% on landing pages receiving traffic from localized video ads
Operationally
- 5 new profitable markets validated in under 2 weeks
- 85% lower cost per localized video than sourcing and hiring local creators
- Same-day turnaround from "winner identified" to "localized versions live", down from 3–4 weeks
- Under €10 per language in average localization cost per video, against €500+ per creator per language
One finding caught the team off guard: their Italian and Spanish audiences carried significantly higher average order values than the home market. Those were segments they had never been able to reach profitably, purely because testing them had been too expensive to justify.
How Localization Changed Their Creative Strategy
GeckoDub didn't only extend LunaFit's geographic reach — it changed how the team produces creative in the first place.
Before, they made ads for one market and occasionally tested others. Now every ad is briefed with global distribution in mind: creative briefs note which product benefits to emphasise per market, and media buyers plan multi-market launches from day one.
Localized ads also turned out to be a source of creative intelligence. Angles that underperformed in English became top performers in other languages, and those insights fed back into the home-market strategy.
GeckoDub turned localization from a cost center into a profit center. Every euro we spend on translation returns multiples in new market revenue. It's the highest-ROI investment in our entire marketing stack.

LunaFit is now extending the same workflow beyond paid social: localized product review videos on their website, translated influencer collaborations for region-specific social accounts, and a summer collection launch going out across 10 markets simultaneously. They're also testing longer-form content — brand story videos for YouTube and landing page hero videos in each market's language.
